Metaverse Art Week 2022 | Decentralized Arts
BanklessDAO Weekly NFT and Cryptoart Newsletter
Dear Bankless Nation,
Decentralized Arts (DA) celebrates with this issue its first anniversary. In this year we have brought you a myriad of stories around non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and the metaverse. In each issue, our passionate collaborators bring relevant or inspiring projects that explain the technology and culture of the crypto world, through art.
This week, Kaf explores Decentraland’s Metaverse Art Week 2022. This is the third event of its kind being put on by Decentraland, and on this occasion it’s titled “The World is Made of Code.” The featured projects will bring innovative and immersive experiences that are aimed to delight all participants.
We then continue the exploration of Dusty Eye's Future Bazaar and find one of the most important pieces, the ashes of the Android protagonist of the artist's time-travels.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank our subscribers, readers, and collaborators for a successful year. Let’s make this coming year at least as successful and exciting as this one.
Happy birthday Decentralized Arts!

Metaverse Art Week 2022
Art-filled immersive experiences at Decentraland
By Kaf
One of the biggest criticisms that Decentraland receives from new users is that there is “not too much to do.” They couldn't be more wrong. There is so much to do!
The different Metaverses seek to create immersive experiences that attract more people to the digital world. This is why Decentraland, for the third consecutive year, will bring together some of the best artists and projects over the next week in a series of events and meetings full of talent, art, and creativity.
In March of this year, we covered Metaverse Fashion Week, which also took place in Decentraland. The event was a total success where some of the most prestigious fashion brands in the world participated with exhibits, and attendees were able to participate from the comfort of their own homes.
In a similar spirit, Metaverse Art Week will be full of exhibits of some of the best artists around the world, and you can enjoy them from the comfort of your home!
Where Do You Want To Go?
Visiting Decentraland is like visiting any city. The first thing to do is locate yourself on the map. Once you’ve oriented yourself, make your way to the Welcome area, where you can connect directly with different buildings. The main attractions will be located in Soho Plaza and the Voltaire Art District.
The event will consist of art installations, numerous NFT exhibits, panel talks, performance art, and so much more! You will have to move around to not miss anything.
What to Visit?
To stay on top of all the biggest Metaverse Art Week events and exhibitions, check out the dedicated Celebration of Art tab at the top of the Decentraland events page. As a new feature, Metaverse Art Week will feature an audio-guided art walk. Once you arrive at the Welcome Area, reach for your headphones to enjoy the enhanced experience.
The talent of artists such as Gavin Shapiro, Alan Bolton, Nick Knight, Ivan Flugeman, and many more, will be on display across many of the Art Week spaces. In addition, some major projects to see include:
Collaboration of Frida Khalo Family with Ezel.Life
artnet
Sotheby's
Cash Labs Gallery
Spatial
Sculpture Garden at Art Plaza
Known Origin
Rare
Opensea
Maker's Place
SuperRare Labs
Beyond the exhibitions, you will be able to attend panel talks, round table discussions, and attend Twitter Spaces organized by leaders and enthusiasts of the Metaverse and Web3.
The World is Made of Code
This year's slogan is "The World is Made of Code," and this event seeks to showcase how, through code, users are creating lands, buildings, avatars, and increasingly fun events. In a few years many experiences across many metaverses will surpass those of the real world.
“Metaverse Art Week 2022 comes at a crucial time for the increased adoption of Web3 technology and decisions about our digital reality. We believe that the future of the Internet must be built by decentralized communities that do not seek to profit from the data, imagination, or creativity of users,” said the creative director of the Decentraland Foundation, Sam Hamilton. "This year's Art Week will be a love letter to what the next generation of artists are doing in the metaverse."
If you´re an art lover, interested in Web3 technology, or both, don't miss the Metaverse Art Week.
