eBay and Hilton Bring on NFTs, Adidas Dives into the Metaverse | Decentralized Arts #44
Dear Bankless Nation,
gm gm! Last week saw NFTs invade New York City. Alongside the main event, NFT.NYC, there was a succession of very interesting and spectacular side events and parties including Polygon Studios Hub, Apefest, Coolcats, and many others. Times Square billboards have been populated for days by leading names in the NFT world. More than 15,000 attendees during the bear market suggests that ecosystem operators believe in the present and future of NFTs and crypto and are committed day by day to making their ideas and dreams come true.
BanklessDAO was well represented during the two main events dedicated to DAOs: DAO NYC and DAO Planet, underlining the strength and commitment of our community and the close link with the NFT world.
In the coming weeks we will have the opportunity to go into detail on what happened at NFT.NYC 2022.
In this week’s edition, we draw attention to the entry of eBay and Hilton to NFTs, and discuss Adidas’ recent move into the Metaverse as part of the launch of their Ozworld collection. Don’t sleep on this news; three big brands are taking steps to bring the Metaverse and NFTs deeper into the mainstream, giving strength to the case that NFTs–and crypto in general–is only going to get bigger.
We wish everyone a good read and a prompt recovery of the market!
Welcome to Decentralized Arts.

The company’s latest acquisition furthers its push into the world of blockchain technology and digital collectibles.

Hilton Introduces New Digital Art and NFT Pilot Program
Hilton has installed digital artwork at its iconic New York Hilton Midtown and Conrad New York Midtown properties in collaboration with Niio Art.
Through the partnership with Niio Art, guests are able to enjoy the digital artwork in hotel public spaces and guest rooms, with the potential to take home selected pieces as part of a gifted art streaming subscription service or NFT giveaway.
Hilton’s new digital art program includes a specially selected collection of kinetic art pieces from some of the medium’s leading artists, as well as exclusively commissioned NFT works, which can be viewed on digital displays in public spaces and bedrooms.
The collection debuted during NFT.NYC 2022, the world’s premier annual non-fungible token conference, which was held in New York City from June 21 to 23.
"Hilton has long believed that art helps create a more friendly and engaging environment for guests at properties across the globe,” said Larry Traxler, Senior Vice President and global head of Architecture and Design for Hilton.

ADIDAS into the Metaverse
DESIGNING AND DISPLAYING YOUR METAVERSE AVATAR
By Kaf
Ever since NFTs and the Metaverse appeared, digital fashion has taken on a new dimension. As we saw at Decentraland's Metaverse Fashion Week, the world's biggest fashion brands are jumping on this opportunity and are taking their first steps into the crypto space.

Two of the largest are Adidas and Nike. The historical rivalry between these two sports brands is already a classic, and it appears we will continue to see the same in the future. First, it was Adidas that bought a BAYC. In response, Nike bought the RTFTK company. Both brands are exploring the different utilities that NFTs provide and are leading the way for the rest. And now, Adidas introduces Ozworld, the latest move to bring the Adidas style to the Metaverse, starting with your avatar.
The Importance of Your Avatar
An avatar is a graphic representation that, in the field of the Internet and new communication technologies, is associated with a user’s identification in the virtual world. Avatars can be photographs, drawings, or even three-dimensional representations. Avatars have long been seen in video games, role-playing games, discussion forums, instant messaging, and social media platforms like Twitter. Anyone who has played video games will have customized their character at some point. However, with the advent of the Metaverse and Web3, your avatar becomes more important. Two key concepts to understand why your image is important within the Metaverse are identity and digital property, which we won’t dive into here, but is important to understand nonetheless. Adidas will bring you into the Metaverse by helping you design your avatar.
Adidas Ozworld
The recent collaboration between Adidas and Ready Player Me allows users to easily create their avatars using artificial intelligence, with an exaggerated Adidas style that will make your avatar look incredible on platforms like Monaverse, Somnium Space, or Spatial, among others.

Ready Player Me is a platform created by Wolf3D, where the main idea is to create an avatar that accompanies you on any virtual platform you are on. This company specializes in creating 3D avatars for companies like HTC, Huawei, Tencent, and Vodafone. On their website, you can create and customize an avatar to your liking and connect it with the different apps with which they collaborate.
To get started, access the Adidas Ozworld platform, where you will be invited to answer a series of questions , including your preferences of the new silhouettes and sneaker models from the latest Ozworld collection. The tool's artificial intelligence-based technology will use this information to model a unique digital avatar, aesthetically inspired by the Adidas' physical Ozworld collection. Once you're done, you can download stickers for your social networks.
Adidas is demonstrating why it is a brand with such an impact worldwide, always being at the forefront. Web3 is still unknown to many people and thanks to big brands like Adidas, many new people will enter this space. In the coming years, we will see more and more people normalize the use of their avatar in the Metaverse!
How To Create And Sell NFTs
Artists from all parts of the world have seen the astonishing rise of NFTs in the past year. And while prices and attention flocked towards this nascent technology, many artists began to wonder how they could get involved. In a new book, written by Rally.io former Director of Fine Art Tam Gryn, and art market expert and bestselling author Magnus Resch, the two experts provide an excellent introduction for artists to Web3 and explore how artists can launch their own NFT projects.
Following last week's interview, we indicate the link to proceed with the purchase of the book.
