Zooming In on Project Management | BanklessDAO Weekly Rollup
Catch Up With What Happened This Week in BanklessDAO
Dear Bankless Nation 🏴,
Are we all smiles going into the holiday season? It does seem that we might all need a bit of downtime, and with many DAO teams choosing not to meet next week, it’s an opportunity for a mid-season hiatus.
Despite the break in activity, let your voice be heard on the different governance proposals. The bDIP-02 aims to coordinate timing across the DAO, and there’s a proposal for shielded Snapshot voting. Let's hear your voice. Do not forget to claim and delegate your SAFE tokens if you are part of a multi-sig team; the deadline is December 27.
In this week's editorial, Bruvton gives us an overview of the Project Management Guild, and the team’s vision to become the Mecca of web3 project management. Hot tip! The Guild is currently looking for contributors with project management expertise to develop educational materials, so please drop by their channels if interested.
Relax with the Rollup this weekend. You’ll find that the Rollup is a portal to the wonderful array of content produced by BanklessDAO. From podcast episodes to AMA recordings, top-shelf Bankless Publishing content, and giggles with The Rug.
Until next time, be excellent to each other.

Zooming In on Project Management
Author: Bruvton
Decentralized autonomous organizations are a catalyst for inspired professionals designing the future of careers across web3. People from all walks of life are attracted to the opportunity to transform their working lives and develop new expertise. This transformation would not be possible without a focus on strong leadership and project management skills. BanklessDAO’s Project Management (PM) Guild is described by GCal, the current guild coordinator, as “an education and talent hub for skills, competencies, mindsets, and tooling in the web3 ecosystem” with the goal of becoming "the Mecca of web3 project management."
The current focus of the PM Guild is to develop and provide foundational skills via educational materials. These will be available to anyone looking to level up their project management skills. By upskilling DAO members, the Guild will help project teams increase the efficiency and effectiveness of their operations. The quality of the education materials will also attract external people to purchase them for use in their own jobs, lives, or DAOs. In this case, the Project Management Guild would become self-funded, and is hoping to evolve into a profit center.
Another service we can look forward to is credentialed project managers available for hire or consultation. One PM Guild member, links, recently piloted a hands-on cohort to provide the participants with essential knowledge: asynchronous project management. Upon completing the cohort, members received an on-chain credential minted on Kudos. By partnering with Bankless Academy, the Guild hopes to produce complete modules with the same on-chain credential system, creating what could be used as a decentralized on-chain resumé.
For now, experienced members of the Guild can run a Retrospective. These meetings are reflective gatherings that take place during or at the completion of a project. The PM Guild facilitator guides participants in a discussion to highlight what went well, discuss any issues that arose, and plan what to do better next time in an open and honest environment. The cost for these is 6,000 BANK. New members of the Guild will be trained to conduct these meetings, providing opportunities to earn and develop facilitation skills.
The PM Guild is in need of people to help design educational material. They need people with experience in both web2 and web3 project management to highlight the differences and bridge the gap. Knowledge of asynchronous work practices is also in demand. Additionally, they are reaching out to different guilds and projects to understand the strategies used and issues faced — in order to create education material where it's actually needed. If you run a project, please reach out to a role holder in the PM Guild to help them help you.
At BanklessDAO, we are truly on the frontier, and we're still a long way from becoming what we are destined to be. As GCal wisely notes, "The future of work is here. It won’t look like it does today, and there’s an opportunity to shape that. Anyone who is interested in that should come join us in the PM Guild."

❤️ Gitcoin x UNICEF
Our favorite web3-based public goods funding protocol, Gitcoin, is collaborating with UNICEF, the children’s relief agency, to explore “blockchain technology as a mechanism to test new resource allocation tools and provide greater efficiencies in public bureaucracies.”
Please consider donating as little as you can, as the power of Quadratic Funding is in the number of donations, not in the dollar amount! There is less than one week left to donate!

Proposals in Discussion
📹 Weekly Rollup Recap Video Series — S6 Funding Proposal
The Weekly Rollup Recap video series (WRRVS) aims to summarize and disseminate the BanklessDAO Weekly Rollup newsletter, in the form of engaging, entertaining, and well-produced weekly videos posted to the BanklessDAO YouTube channel. The WRRVS extends the DAO’s reach by providing weekly video content to drive engagement, spread the Bankless message, promote the DAO, and keep viewers coming back week after week. The WRRVS team is requesting 157,000 BANK to produce 10 videos over the course of Season 6.
🌳 Purpose-Driven Guild Funding
One challenge we face in the DAO is the lack of a consistent mechanism for determining which guilds are fulfilling their purpose of supporting the DAO’s mission. The Member Based Guild Funding introduced last season has highlighted the difficulty of establishing a DAO-wide metric for active members, since every guild has different objectives and priorities. This proposal attempts to build on the intentions of the previous strategy.
🛡️ Snapshot Voting — Implement Shielded Voting
To date, all bDAO votes taking place on Snapshot have been transparent; everyone can see who voted for, or against, each proposal in real time. Recently, Snapshot partnered with Shutter Network to offer a shielded voting system that keeps votes private during the voting period and reveals votes once the proposal closes. This proposal suggests that bDAO use shielded voting for the rest of Season 6 as a trial run to collect feedback before creating a bDIP for permanent implementation in our Constitution.
