Catch Up With What Happened This Week in BanklessDAO
Dear Bankless Nation 🏴,
BanklessDAO is a value-oriented organization with the hope for a more egalitarian world at heart, and this motivates our day-to-day activities in the community. In this week’s Community Call roundtable discussion, Jenga spoke about the recent proposal to fund 3.95M BANK for a series of face-to-face crypto-onboarding events, the main goal for which is to grow the awareness of the Bankless movement and the Optimistic Vision through events that enable hands-on learning.
That said, these events should also enhance the DAO’s standing in the third round of Optimism retroactive public goods funding (RPGF). If you’re yet to go through the proposal titled Accruing value via RPGF3, there is still time to add your feedback.
Speaking of funding, all S9 seasonal funding requests must be posted on the Forum by July 22. Remember to use the appropriate template and include a poll for consensus.
While fund is a four-letter word, fun is only three letters and it’s much less work to find! It is a truth universally acknowledged that meeting other members of the bDAO fam is FUN — and a bit trippy too when you know these old friends but you’ve never met them. In this week’s editorial you can FOMO into the fun of the planned ChippiCon meetup which is happening alongside Permissionless II in September.

🔗 Delegate VITA Tokens to DAOstewards.eth
In Season 5, BanklessDAO acquired VITA tokens via token swap but was not able to actively participate in the governance of VitaDAO. In order to increase BanklessDAO's involvement in VitaDAO's governance, this proposal suggests delegating the voting rights associated with the DAO’s VITA token holding to DAOstewards.eth.
The VITA token is the governance token of VitaDAO, a community-owned collective dedicated to funding and advancing longevity science research that can improve people's lives.

It’s summer in North America, so it must be conference season! Folks may be heading to the City of Love for EthCC next week, or ETHToronto and the Blockchain Futurist Conference in August, but come September, the Bankless Nation is heading to Austin, Texas for a good old-fashioned crypto roundup at Permissionless II — kicking off on September 11!
Last year, this BanklessHQ co-sponsored event brought the DAO community together in Florida for some much needed IRL bonding, and this year promises more of the same, with an awesome but familiar twist:
SAY WHAT!? Yes frens, you read that right, Chippi are stampeding across Texas ranch land to reach the promised land: ChippiCon 2023!
Incubated in the Chippi Discord, the inaugural ChippiCon will take place on September 10 and serve as an opening ceremony for a few days of education, elucidation, and hallucination. The meetup will be at Oddwood Brewing from 7-10pm local Austin time. Can you believe we get to party here?!
Aside from a dope venue and trying to reach ATHs IRL on retro vids (Hiro gonna whoop your ass!), the best part about ChippiCon 2023 may be that attendees are encouraged, noooo, REQUIRED to attend dressed as their Chippi! What is Johne gonna do with this:

🚀 Blockchain And Beyond Conference

The ‘Blockchain And Beyond’ Conference, held June 23-24 June, 2023, attracted more than 2000 young, energetic people to attend! Throughout the event, there were so many insights provided by presenters with knowledge in every area of technology, including blockchain and web 3. The conference was organised by BlockchainUNN, a student organization at University of Nigeria which is developing the next generation of blockchain leaders through hands-on projects and education.
The event included many giveaways from the speakers, panel discussions with one-on-one interaction between attendees and speakers, breakout sessions where participants learned more, and much more. The whole thing was a blast.
You could see the excitement and concentration on the faces of the participants, something I haven't really experienced or seen before. Beyond education, BlockchainUNN took it upon themselves to empower a few fortunate individuals with brand new laptops and offer them a year's scholarship; all of this was worth NGN 1,000,000.
BanklessDAO was represented by three individuals in the DAO: PaulitoBankless, The Real OG, and Emmanuel. Great work guys!
