The Halfway Point | BanklessDAO Weekly Rollup
Catch Up With What Happened This Week in BanklessDAO
Dear Bankless Nation 🏴,
We’re at the seasonal halfway point; there are now eight weeks to go until the end of Season 9 and a well-earned break to round out the year. What do you want to achieve before 2023 draws to a close? What goals does your guild or project team want to meet during Season 9?
BanklessDAO is excited to be included as a potential recipient in the current Octant Epoch. Octant allocates a portion of its staking rewards to fund public good projects. If you hold and lock at least 100 GLM tokens you can then decide to keep your portion of ETH staking rewards or donate them to selected recipients.
The Community Call roundtable discussion will now happen every two weeks. There are a limited number of slots available, so if you are interested in sharing a topic or getting feedback from the community, please add the details to the booking sheet.
This week’s Community Call roundtable was a great one — Ornella initiated a conversation about onboarding and we heard from a few of our community members about their experiences at bDAO and other DAOs. The creation of a smooth introductory experience at BanklessDAO is something that we must pursue, so if you have any ideas about the process, please let Ornella know.
We wish you a relaxing weekend, and hope you enjoy this edition of the Rollup.

🧨 [TEMP CHECK] BanklessDAO Grants Reform
The Grants Committee has been dealing with several challenges that may be an existential threat to the DAO, such as unclear mandate, trouble attracting and retaining members, difficult and contentious seasonal funding process, and no way to track its own performance.
This Temp Check seeks DAO feedback on potential solutions to the above problems.
Defining a GC and Department purposes in the Constitution.
Adjustment of GC quorum and compensation.
Defining who should be able to request grants.
Moving projects to ad-hoc funding (not seasonal).
Reducing scope and adopting new tools for guild funding.
There is a thought-provoking discussion happening on the Forum and you are welcome to bring your ideas and your vote to this temp check.
