Ideation | BanklessDAO Weekly Rollup
Catch Up With What Happened This Week in BanklessDAO
Dear Bankless Nation 🏴,
This week's community call highlighted important governance announcements, including Forum proposals. Issues regarding governance, such as the BanklessDAO Multisig Funding Pause and Governance Department Retro 1 proposal, need attention. Visit the Forum to share your thoughts as governance relies on community input.
The Governance Department Retro 1 proposal, highlighted in this week's editorial, focuses on retrospectives to evaluate and enhance the DAO's operations and mission. These sessions gather community insights to identify areas for improvement and ensure alignment with the DAO's goals, strengthening the claim that retrospectives are crucial in driving meaningful governance decisions and fostering a sustainable DAO ecosystem.
In other news, Gitcoin is decentralizing decision-making on their Grants Rounds. A seven-member council will decide on the matching pool for different communities in GG20. We have two of our members contesting so you can check that out. Also, with ETHDenver happening next week, Icedcool is putting together a meetup for community members. Be on the lookout for when and where.
It’s been a week of self-reflection. Having these conversations is what is needed at this time as we drive towards a more sustainable future. Take time to recharge and contribute to improving our community by engaging in Forum discussions for the betterment of governance.

Proposals in Discussion
🏛️ Governance Department Retro No. 1
Continuing from last week's discussion on the multi-signature issue (here), the Governance Department initiated discussions regarding future actions. These discussions began with retrospectives focusing on different aspects of the DAO. This post specifically addresses the retrospective concerning the DAO's mission. The proposal is open for folks to share their thoughts and comments on the Forum.

Identity! Re-organize! Decentralization! Still bDAO? Next move?
These were all captured in our community call’s most recent POAP design and it tells us exactly where we are as a DAO. It’s reconstruction season.
Funding has been paused. There is less noise and more room to do some ideating. What does a DAO 2.0 look like for you? These are the topics most important to us right now, and we need the community in its entirety to be a part of it. The governance department has been spearheading these conversations, kicking things off with a retro this past Monday.
The retro covered multiple layers — governance, funding, org units, constitution, vibes, mission, and operations. In each of these layers, we discussed what to stop, start, and keep.
It was a healthy brainstorming session and we are just getting started. There are still tons of concerns to bring up, suggestions to be made, and vibes to keep. If you were not a part of the first retro, your feedback is more than welcome on Forum. You can also join us on Monday, 7pm UTC to further these conversations.
Next week, we will be doing a deeper dive on mission. What do we want to do? Why are we here? And most importantly, what are we excited about? Answering these questions will help shape our future and make what we will love to see come to fruition. We have heard all about the current state of the DAO, let’s shape the future state together.
