Community-Led Knowledge Sharing for the Win | BanklessDAO Weekly Rollup
Catch Up With What Happened This Week in BanklessDAO
Dear Bankless Nation 🏴,
Welcome to another edition of the Weekly Rollup, your weekly dose of all things BanklessDAO! Sunday, August 27 marks the last day of Season 8, and though there is still much work to be done, we trust our amazing contributors to keep pushing forward. For those with BanklessDAO-built project needing funds, or a great idea that needs a team, the Grants Committee has announced there is 3.9 million BANK still available for Season 8 — so get those proposals in!
During this week’s Community Call, the Treasury Department announced the latest tlBANK stats: 135 holders and 9.8 million BANK locked! That's impressive, thank you! To those who haven't joined this initiative yet, we eagerly await the day you get Locked and Loaded. This week's roundtable focused on ideas about distribution of tlBANK to DAO organizational units, either with BANK or in place of BANK. The opportunity for project teams and individuals to demonstrate long-term alignment by accepting tlBANK deserves consideration, as does the need to ensure contributors have a voice in that process.
Speaking of having a voice, the Bankless Publishing website now offers the ability to switch on translation for nine languages other than English, which will display based on the reader’s IP address. Meanwhile, the DAO’s website project will be absorbed into the Marketing Department and the next important step is to develop a CMS workflow so that updates can be initiated by a number of people.
There is so much the community should feel proud of this week, and so much still untapped on the horizon! If you have an unanswered question about web3 or some untapped knowledge to share, you’ll love the format for Mosaic — a new community-led knowledge-share platform. We hope you enjoy reading about Mosaic’s Race to 100 contest in this week’s editorial, and have a fantastic weekend!

🏛 Governance
Snapshot Votes
🔴 Tokenomics — Optimism Liquidity Implementation
The DAO does not currently own liquidity on Optimism L2. This proposal aims to address this, with the intention of migrating 5 ETH and 2.2M BANK from Mainnet in order to implement a full-range position on Uniswap V3. This is due to rising L1 gas costs and growth in BanklessDAO subDAO activities on Optimism. This will produce an initial liquidity pool worth $20k.
⚡ Delegate Snapshot Proposal rights to Governance Department
This proposal suggests that the BanklessDAO Vault multisig should delegate the permission to post on Snapshot to the Governance Department, allowing them to create and submit proposals on behalf of the DAO. Vault multisig signers retain rights to delete proposals. There are only two days left to vote on this proposal.
Proposals in Discussion
🗳️ Governance Election: Season 9 Grants Committee
Applications are open for positions on the Season 9 Grants Committee, with three seats open for election. Thank you to p8ul.eth, raybankless, and daolexa for their service on Grants Committee to date.
If you are a Level 1 Member who can bring your experience and expertise to the process of reviewing grant proposals and mentoring project teams, please consider applying. The submission period runs until August 19, with the election period commencing on August 20 for seven days.
🏴 Temp Check — Guest Pass V2
Should BanklessDAO change its Guest Pass system to four-week passes with a maximum of two renewals? This temp check details planned changes to guest onboarding to create a time-based incentive for new contributors to foster relationships with Members, learn how to earn BANK, and determine how they can contribute to the DAO.
Community-Led Knowledge Sharing for the Win

Win 32,000 BANK just for asking questions.
Wait what?
Manuel here, founder of Mosaic and a BanklessDAO contributor from Seasons 2-5. Mosaic is a knowledge-share platform that connects people who have questions with people who have answers. Our network has been growing with individuals and communities whose expertise ranges from topics like DeFi, DAOs, privacy, blockchain infrastructure, and more.
It’s early days, but I attribute a lot of what Mosaic is to what BanklessDAO has taught me. So, in honor of BanklessDAO being my birthplace into this wild world of web3, I’m holding this contest with a grand prize of 32,000 BANK. That means if you’re currently on a Guest Pass, you could earn your L1 membership. Nice.
But trust me, it will be EARNED. This contest is called Race to 100. Mosaic has been integrated into the BanklessDAO server. Every question you ask earns you points. Every answer you provide earns you more points. Almost every action results in an exchange of points. The first person to earn 100 points wins the grand prize of 32,000 BANK (the contest is open to legal residents of the fifty states and the District of Columbia in the U.S. only, but that doesn’t stop you asking or answering questions!).
The intention is to share valuable knowledge, but have some fun doing it. Be careful. Some actions make you lose points. This isn’t a handout. To make sure we keep the quality of information high, if your answer is downvoted, you’ll lose points. If your question or answer is flagged as inappropriate, you’ll lose a lot of points. The contest could last days or weeks. It depends on how curious you are about web3 and crypto!
With this contest, I hope to facilitate the transfer of knowledge. We all have valuable information to share. Someone out there has a question that you can answer. You have experience that others can learn from.
Remember WAGMI? It’s been a while since I’ve seen that phrase. Bear market things I guess. But it’s still very true. We’re all gonna make it and we’re all in this together. So ask your burning questions, help your fellow Bankless people out, learn something new, and when the bull returns, you’ll have more knowledge to take it by the horns and kick some ass.
The full details and rules can be found on the website. It’s all happening in the BanklessDAO Discord server. The channel is called mosaic-q&a. Find the post that says Start Here - Welcome to Mosaic to get access.
Good Luck!
👀 In Case You Missed It
🏦 Season 9 Grants
The Seasonal Grants process is in full swing. Grants Committee is finalizing numbers with each DAO group over the next couple of days. To be included in the seasonal funding Snapshot you MUST get your Grant Reviewer's sign off on your proposal and projects must have up-to-date KPIs recorded in Notion. These statuses are reflected in the GC spreadsheet, so take a look to see whether or not your proposal has been accepted.
Also, as discussed in the Community Call, please complete this one-minute poll to help us gauge the sentiment and activity of the bDAO community.
📣 Contribute to Spread the Bankless Mission
The International Media Nodes (IMN) project has been essential in furthering the Bankless mission in non-English-speaking regions. These teams are bridging the language barrier between diverse cultures and the English-speaking crypto space. To fuel their ambition of reaching even more cultures, the IMN project have a Giveth project open for donations. Your contribution will help spread the message further.
