Community and Content Are a Classic Combo | BanklessDAO Weekly Rollup
Catch Up With What Happened This Week in BanklessDAO
Dear Bankless Nation 🏴,
This week's Community Call was delightful and filled with positive vibes and laughter. The energy was carried over from ETHBarcelona, where Bankless Academy presented its first workshop, helping Explorers on their journey in the web3 world.
The fifth BanklessDAO Writer's Cohort is set to begin on July 19, and in this week's editorial, Lucent explores the profound impact that participation in the Cohort can have on one’s confidence to ship content and contribute to the web3 conversation. Don’t pass on this opportunity to join fellow writers — it’s a supportive and inspiring community that you won’t regret signing up for.
After a long and detailed process, the new BanklessDAO Constitution is live. A big thank you to the team’s lead, trewkat, and the core team of Ernest of Gaia, HiroKennelly, links, and Icedcool who debated and refined the text to make our governance documentation clearer. Take your time to read and digest over the weekend.
Remember to take time to relax, enjoy, and refresh yourself for the new week.
bDAO strong, frens.

Proposals in Discussion
🔴 Accruing Value Via RPGF3
This proposal requests 3.95M BANK for a global campaign focusing on IRL events to spread Optimistic values. The authors suggest this events program will enhance our eligibility for Optimism's third round of retroactive public goods funding and produce significant returns for the DAO and its projects and contributors. It’s an ambitious proposal and a huge BANK ask, so every DAO member is encouraged to review the proposal, leave feedback, and vote!
Snapshot
🧮 Dynamic Forum Quorum Implementation
Snapshot proposals run for seven days and require ≥66% approval. The recent Snapshot vote for bDIP-11: Dynamic Forum Quorum for bDIPs has passed with 13M BANK / 78.11% approval. Each month, the Governance Department will now revise the quorum requirement for governance proposals posted to the Forum, using the formula outlined in this proposal.
Community and Content Are a Classic Combo
Author: Lucent
Leonardo Da Vinci is best known as a painter, scientist, and his role as one of the pioneers of European civilization. One famous quote, "Learning never exhausts the mind," exemplifies his thirst for knowledge and dedication to expanding his mind to achieve mastery over the then-modern world. This spirit of continuous learning is the bedrock of the DAO's efforts to make the world go bankless, and let’s just say we think Leonardo would definitely be a DAOpunk.
One of the best ways to learn is to write about a subject you’re unfamiliar with or interested in. With this in mind, the BanklessDAO Writers Guild, in partnership with Taptive, created the BanklessDAO Writers Cohort. This transformative experience not only facilitates learning how to ship content, it also fosters meaningful connections and nurtures minds in a community setting.
The Cohort is open to anyone interested in exploring topics related to crypto and web3, welcoming both new and established writers. Through weekly tasks, feedback, and collaboration, participants acquire new knowledge, refine their thinking, and expand their horizons.
Cohort Equals Community
At the heart of the Cohort lies the power of community engagement, which creates a sense of belonging among participants, enabling them to discuss ideas, exchange insights, and provide valuable feedback to one another. This reciprocal relationship fosters a virtuous cycle where the growth of individuals elevates the community, and the strength of the community, in turn, propels the development of individuals.
Boluwatife, a participant in the fourth Writers Cohort, described her experience:
The Writers Cohort provided me with a community to interact with when it came to writing. This community helped me polish my work and instilled in me the attitude of publishing.
Empowering Contributors, Building Web3 Content
Each published post from the Writers Cohort represents an individual's expression of their web3 experience and showcases the growth in confidence to share their insights with a broader audience. Last season, Writers Cohort 4 saw the publication of 72 posts, some of which were republished in our newsletters and via Bankless Publishing. Boluwatife's article, Thriving in Web3, emphasized the importance of adequate rest when contributing to web3 and made it to the Weekly Rollup editorial section.
The lessons learned from the Cohort empower Boluwatife in her role as the Writers Guild Marketing Coordinator, contributing to her confidence to produce Twitter threads, summaries, and other written pieces. Of course, she is not alone in finding strength and growth through community; that’s the foundation of modern society. There’s no guarantee that the Writers Cohort will make you a famous writer, but it will certainly enable you to write with confidence. Writing well is a skill valued by others, but confidence of expression is of priceless value to ourselves, and Da Vinci would certainly be proud of that.
The fifth BanklessDAO Writer's Cohort starts on July 19 and you can sign up now.
