Welcome to Season 9! We hope you reconnected with your friends, family, and self during the Gap Week. This season will be 15-weeks in duration and will take us through to the end of 2023 and a longer break.
The official Season 9 launch event was nothing short of good vibes and hearty laughter, with tales of awesome achievements and innovative plans. The dedication of bDAO contributors amid the bear deserves a shout out — it’s second to none.
In this week’s editorial, we revisit the advice given by Ryan Sean Adams during the kick off call — because it’s too good to leave in the ephemera of X. It was a pleasure to have both Ryan and David present and to hear their perspective on what the new year may bring. Ryan’s three tips are sure to resonate with you and we hope it helps to ignite your passion for the bankless ethos.

By approving this proposal, DAOStewards will continue to serve as BanklessDAO's official meta-governance group for Season 9, and the BanklessDAO Vault Multsig will be able to grant DAOStewards requests for qualified governance tokens. If you haven't voted already, please do.

💰 Tokenomics — Approve DAI Capital-Efficiency Strategy
In early 2022, following the transfer of DAO liquidity to Uniswap V3, the DAO established a Rari Fuse pool, which would allow those holding BANK tokens to use them as collateral for borrowing.
This proposal is to deposit the 14,693.416 DAI which is sitting idle in DAO Treasury into BanklessDAO’s Rari Fuse pool and earn 6.53% APY. If you haven't weighed in on this proposal, hop on the Forum and do so.

Did you miss the BanklessDAO Season 9 kick off? It was a great event, very positive, and there was a definite vibe that there could be a bull market just around the corner. However as David Hoffman pointed out, we don’t know just how long that corner might be, and it’s also possible that — similar to the 2020 bull — we may not even recognise it when we’re there.
Regardless of market timing, Ryan Sean Adams shared some excellent advice I thought worth repeating in the Weekly Rollup. I’ve slightly paraphrased Ryan’s words, so if you would like to hear his wisdom directly you can listen to the recording.
Ryan discussed three ideas which he believes will serve bDAO members well through the next year or so, in preparation for what we hope will be different market conditions.
1. Grab a Bear Market Buddy
This is a great time to connect with your community and find the people who truly share your values. David and Ryan actually met during the last bear market! Whether it be through face-to-face events such as Permissionless, or in the weekly Community Call or Discord chatter, one of the best ways to stay grounded is to bond with others on our journey.
2. Find a Crypto Hobby
What is it that you find intellectually stimulating about web3? Whether it’s the cutting-edge technology, contributing toward social and political change, creative pursuits, regenerative finance, decentralized science, or any number of combinations of these aspects, Ryan is correct in saying that to explore all the different rabbit holes and find your niche is a great hobby to have. Do this at your own pace, to satisfy your own curiosity, and most of all, have fun with it.
3. Invest in Yourself
It’s likely that when the market does improve, there will be opportunities for people who have solid web3 experience to contribute in new and exciting ways. Ryan’s third tip is to invest in yourself first: strengthen your skillset by learning how to write, speak, design, or code and you will be setting the parameters for positive personal growth regardless of external conditions.
The Bear Market Blows But We’re Here Together
The tips Ryan provided during the kick off are solid, and very similar to the advice I would give you myself. While I have about one gazillianth the crypto knowledge that Ryan Sean Adams and David Hoffman have, I’m grateful every day that they decided to create BanklessDAO and invite us to join them in going bankless.
