Anotherfuckin DAO? | BanklessDAO Weekly Rollup
Catch Up With What Happened This Week in BanklessDAO
Dear Bankless Nation 🏴,
For the past eight months, some might say our community has been stuck, unable to move forward due to scattered energy and a lack of focus. This view has some truth to it. However, with the appointment of the Transition Council, we have seen a break to this standstill as the Council has already taken several decisive actions. As Hirokennelly pointed out in the last issue of the Rollup, the council can help get the DAO back on track and start firing on all cylinders again.
The council’s first move was to eliminate the guest pass. Next, guilds and departments will be restructured, with plans to set up new workflows for projects within the DAO. They’ll also be sorting out the DAO’s assets. In the coming days, the council will be working on improving our governance structure and other important aspects of our community.
The main topic of this week’s community call was the exciting revamp of the DAO. This week’s editorial highlights a possible path forward with Trewkat’s Forum post. Remember, governance starts with all of us, so join the weekly governance calls every Monday at 19:00 UTC and participate.
Have an amazing weekend friends, and let’s keep working together to rebuild our community!

Proposals in Discussion
Anotherfuckin DAO?
Author: Boluwatife
A lot of activity and change is currently occurring in the DAO, with obsolete channels being removed and decisions on "what next?" being made. The transition council informed us that over the next couple of weeks, their discussions would be centered on brand assets handling. Assets include multisigs, social media pages, and other keys of the DAO. The council acknowledged that a consensus needs to be reached to determine who will steward these brand assets, how we trust community members to handle these assets, and many more concerns. They also discussed how to find homes for still-active projects and ways to integrate community projects that grew from the DAO, with the DAO. This prompted the questions — why would anyone want to associate themselves with the DAO, and how would that be implemented?
By the side, the DAO multisig assured that updates regarding spending would continue to be given via Forum as information would always be passed on the Forum first before execution.
Now to the main topic for the week. Trewkat made a Forum post proposing a rebrand from bDAO to Anotherfuckin DAO; let us discuss what this is all about and what the community thought about it.
Trewkat proposed this idea because she, like many others, was thinking of how to move forward with the DAO rebrand, especially since the whole community has reached a consensus to start fresh. While initially jarring, this bold concept warrants some consideration for its potential to revitalize our community and redefine our position in the crypto space.
The Rationale Behind the Rebrand
Distinctive Identity: In a saturated market of DAOs, "Anotherfuckin DAO" stands out as a bold, memorable name that challenges conventions and captures attention.
Versatile Branding Opportunities: The proposed name offers unlimited potential for sub-brands and projects, such as "Anotherfuckin podcast," "Anotherfuckin newsletter," or even "Anotherfuckin token." This versatility allows for comprehensive branding across diverse initiatives.
Ironic Positioning: By adopting a name that suggests conformity, we paradoxically highlight our uniqueness. We position ourselves as anything but "another" DAO, emphasizing our community's exceptional qualities and offerings.
Cultural Resonance: The irreverent tone of the name aligns with the crypto community's often rebellious and non-conformist ethos, potentially attracting like-minded individuals and organizations.
Potential Benefits and Opportunities
Increased Visibility: The provocative nature of the name is likely to generate significant buzz and organic marketing opportunities within the crypto space.
Community Bonding: A bold rebrand could relaunch our community, providing a shared identity and rallying point for members.
Expanded Scope: This rebrand could facilitate our evolution beyond traditional DAO structures, potentially encompassing events, membership models, or specialized crypto services.
Addressing Potential Concerns
As of the time of writing this piece, the forum proposal has over a 90% approval rate. However, some concerns that were raised are:
Professionalism: While the name is intentionally provocative, maintaining professional standards in our operations and communications will be paramount.
Longevity: Consideration must be given to the long-term viability and adaptability of this branding in various contexts and as the organization evolves.
Inclusivity: This was stated to ensure that the new brand does not alienate any segments of our diverse community or potential partners.
Now, I know what you're thinking:
This all sounds great, but will it actually work?
This is a very valid question and concern. So, what do you say, fam? Are we ready to take this route? Check out the Forum post and let us know what you think.
In the end, whether we go with this idea or not, one thing's for sure: we're not just anotherfuckin DAO. We're a community of passionate, innovative, and slightly unhinged individuals who are ready to make our mark on the crypto world. Hence, whatever we decide to call ourselves, that's something worth celebrating.
So, let's raise a glass to new beginnings, bold ideas, and the audacity to be different.
